Taniwha Daffodils is a well known and loved landmark, attracting thousands of visitors from all over Hawke’s Bay, and New Zealand.

Enjoy the display of many hundreds of daffodil varieties, planted in a 20 acre park-like setting, amongst mature trees and ponds.

We are open 7 days a week throughout September from 9am - 4.30pm each day. Closing weekend is Sunday 29th September.
Please note we may close earlier depending on the season.

Collect one of our buckets when you arrive, and wander for as long as you wish. Explore the beautiful grounds, amongst the trees, lakes and birds. Once you have finished picking, head to the Daffodil Shed where our lovely volunteers will wrap your bunch for you to take home.

Taniwha Daffodils is easy to find and well signposted. We can be seen alongside State Highway 2, just 10 mins 1south of Waipukurau, with drifts of daffodils marking the roadside. This gorgeous site can be seen with the backdrop of the snow covered Ruahine Ranges in the distance.

Feel free to bring a picnic to enjoy in the beautiful setting or we have an on-site pop-up cafe operating on the weekends, providing delicious lunches and sweet treats. Pack a warm jacket and waterproof shoes - just in case, it is Spring after all!

Pricing

Pick your own daffodils - $7.50 for 30 stems or $15.00 for a pre-picked bunch when available. Cash preferred but eftpos is available.
All proceeds from the sale of the daffodils will go to our chosen charity, Plunket.
Please be careful when picking and refrain from picking tight buds - these will be charged at $1 a stem.

COFFEE SHED

Delicious takeaway coffee for sale from the corner of the daffodil shed, as well as tea, fruit drinks, Rush Munroe ice-creams and home baking.
The Coffee Shed opening hours are flexible, weather and customer dependent. Approx 9.30am - 12.00 noon weekdays with afternoon opening possible for group bookings. Open 9.30am - 3.30pm on weekends.

The Cook's Kitchen pop-up Cafe

Open every Saturday and Sunday from 10am at Taniwha Daffodils. Enjoy delicious homemade soups and fresh bread, omelettes and burritos, as well as freshly made cakes, made fresh in the Cook's Kitchen.
Gluten free and vegetarian options available.
